Where does our food come from?
Much of the food in our cupboards looks the same - all wrapped up in layers of packaging, in tins and boxes and bags; each one branded and labelled. It's so easy to not consider the connection between the farm and our plates. Children can connect the dots through these illustrations that show plants and animals, and the foods they provide us.
The designs were originally created for Eureka! The National Children's Museum's proposed redevelopment of their kitchen area. Eureka! is very hands-on in its approach, and so the illustrations were designed be shown on the front and backs of cupboard doors, for children to open and reveal answers, much like a lift-the-flap book. The designs can also be applied to a variety of different situations, such as individual posters or collated together into a book, or even a matching card game.
